Every day, countless animals face heartbreaking challenges—abandonment, neglect, and abuse. Without help, their stories often end before they have a chance to begin. At The Artemis Project, we believe every animal deserves a second chance, and with your support, we can give them the lives they deserve.
Who We Are
We are a volunteer-run, no-kill rescue based in Hackett, Arkansas, serving the underserved communities of the Arkansas/Oklahoma River Valley. Since 2020, we’ve rescued over 11,000 animals from dire situations, including overcrowded shelters, rural pounds, and abusive environments. But we don’t stop there. We rehabilitate them, find them loving homes, and work to prevent future suffering through spay/neuter programs and education.
Our mission began after our local humane society shut down in 2019, leaving animals with no safety net. We stepped in to fill that gap, driven by a passion for animal welfare and a commitment to saving lives.
What We’ve Accomplished Together
- 11,000+ lives saved in just four years.
- A 99.4% live outcome rate, ensuring nearly every animal gets a second chance.
- Hundreds of animals transported monthly to areas with better adoption opportunities.
- Over $200,000 spent on medical care in 2024 alone, ensuring every animal gets the treatment they need and the second chance they deserve.
All of this is made possible by a team of volunteers and the generosity of people like you.
The Challenges We Face
The need has never been greater. Right now, animals in our care are waiting for critical medical treatment, food, warm beds, and families. Veterinary bills alone have exceeded $200,000 this year, and our transport program and everyday expenses stretch our resources to the limit. We are committed to saving as many lives as possible, but we can’t do it alone.
